Wonderful Weddings Make Dreams Come True
We had our Wedding Reception at the Valley Hotel on 4th July 2008. The Hotel is a family run business and within a very short time we got to know all the family members and they greeted us with warmth and a friendly smile every time we went in to organise the wedding. I (the bride) am vegetarian and made a special request for the vegetarian meals which was welcomed by the Chef and was far better than I imagined! We had no anxieties whatsoever about how the venue would look and had the same staff member (Greg Williamson, General Manager) look after us from the very start to the very end. As many of us will know, trying to find the 'right' venue can be difficult and we found some other venues to be uninspiring and at times we felt rushed or dismissed or told to look on the Internet at their website to find the answers to our questions. We had no such experiences with the staff at the Valley.
There is absolutely nothing we could say to fault the Valley Hotel. Their prices were more than reasonable (as you often feel like people bump up the prices because it's a wedding) and the food was exceptional. We had many guests tell us that it was the best Wedding Reception they had ever been to. The smokers were also very impressed with the fantastic smoking area!
During the Reception, the staff were discreet yet acutely attentive, wholly professional and efficient and from the smiles on their faces you could see how much they enjoyed what they were doing. We both feel that it makes such a difference that this is a family business, as their livelihoods depend on our positive experience and reviews such as this. (By the way, we have never written a review for anything before but felt so impressed to do so!).
We had plenty of family and friends who travelled from Australia, Scotland and England for the wedding and all found their rooms to be completely comfortable, spotlessly clean and reasonably priced, making it possible for us to book the entire hotel for the night! The breakfast the following morning was FRESH and delicious.
We could not recommend the Valley Hotel highly enough for a Wedding Reception and thank the staff for making ours so perfect.
